Hundreds of law enforcement officers, family members and community leaders gathered at the Empire State Plaza this month for the annual New York State Police Officers Memorial Remembrance Ceremony, which honors officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their fellow New Yorkers.
This year, 56 names were added to the memorial, which now recognizes 1,964 officers from 157 local and state law enforcement agencies and six federal agencies. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice and lasting legacy of the men and women who gave their lives protecting others.
