Pre-Qualification & Application Resources

Local organizations are valuable partners who know their communities. The DCJS Office of Program Development and Funding helps direct and monitor funding to invest in public safety. Nonprofits and qualified organizations who would like to compete for funding administered by DCJS should begin at this page and complete the steps to put themselves into the best position for opportunities.

Nonprofit organizations must Prequalify to do business with New York State agencies before they can compete for State grants. The process allows nonprofits to address questions and concerns prior to entering a competitive bid process. Nonprofits are strongly encouraged to begin the Prequalification process as soon as possible. Prequalification includes answering basic questions regarding the organization and uploading key organizational documents.

SFS - Statewide Financial System

SFS is New York State's preferred system for managing grant and vendor funding processes. Registering with the Statewide Financial System (SFS) will help you search and apply for funding.

GMS - Grants Management System

GMS is the legacy platform that manages some DCJS grants. RFAs requiring an application response in GMS will be clearly marked.
