The Steuben County Community Service Program, operated by the Steuben County Probation Department, provides community service in place of incarceration.

The Steuben County ASAIP program will be used to serve that population of probationers who have been assessed to have a high risk of alcoholism and/or other substance abuse. The tools used in this program will range from more frequent drug testing and more stringent supervision to referral to inpatient treatment. This program will give the courts more sentencing options for high risk defendants than just incarceration and allow the probation department to institute a system of graduated sanctions at the top stage rather than just probation revocation.
