This program began operation in 1985. The Wayne County Pretrial Release/Enhanced Pretrial Release program of Wayne Pretrial Services, Inc. is an Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) program that, where authorized or requested by the Court, will monitor and supervise pretrial individuals. This program assists clients with individual needs (such as chemical dependency or mental health issues) to access appropriate services, monitors client compliance upon release, and ensures that clients return to court, as expected.

 


ERIE SHORES PROBATION - PROBATIONER AND COURT-REFERRED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

This project provides employment- focused services to men and women in Ontario, Steuben and Wayne Counties who have been placed under the supervision of the local probation department or referred by the court to an alternative to incarceration or other community-based program.  The participants will be persons who have been assessed as being at high or moderate risk of re-offending and have low to moderate employment needs.  Priority is given to those sentenced within the past six months.  This program offers Tier 1 Medium Intensity Programming. Services include the Thinking for a Change program, and the Ready, Set Work! curriculum, along with job-placement services.  The program also includes risk, needs and job-readiness assessments, case planning, referrals to education and training, as appropriate, job retention, aftercare, referrals and criminal history assistance.

This project began in January of 2018.  This project provides all criminal court clients, initially unable to post bail, the opportunity to be interviewed to determine eligibility for release from jail. The interview process objectively assesses the defendant's qualifications for release through release on his/her own recognizance (ROR), or, where the court determines the risk of absconding to be greater, through release under supervision (RUS). Program operations will include screening, eligibility determinations, monitoring functions, where appropriate, and court notification of those who fail to satisfy release requirements. The program’s main office is located in Newark, NY but the program serves, Ontario County and is expanding into Livingston County.

This project began in January 2018.  Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) is a proven program model and methodology designed to engage persons referred by the justice system to substance abuse treatment and other services, and to collaborate with both justice and treatment to ensure that appropriate and adequate services are available for justice clients with the goal of reducing recidivism.The program’s main office is located in Newark, NY but the program serves Wayne and Ontario Counties and is expanding into Livingston and Oswego Counties.

This project began in January 2018. The program is an Alternative to Incarceration Program that is designed to provide the court with a sentencing option in lieu of incarceration.  This program's purpose is to reduce the use and the length of incarceration. This project provides screening, risk and needs assessment, development of a Client Specific Plan, approval of the plan by the court and reporting to the court. The program also provides case management/supervision, CBI, Thinking for a Change, and employment-readiness services and /or referrals for educational or vocational services. The program’s main office is located in Newark, NY but the program serves Wayne, Ontario and is expanding into Oswego and Livingston Counties.
