Non-New York City UCR Juvenile Arrest/Criminal Activity Data - Under 18
Information related to juvenile arrests and criminal activity is collected by the Division of Criminal Justice Services through the Uniform Crime Reporting program. This data is submitted by agencies that follow the reporting guidelines outlined by the Federal Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program which are designed to capture the criminal activity of juveniles. The New York City Police Department does not submit this data to DCJS so it is only available from the counties in the Non-New York City region. This data is not limited to court or formal arrest actions. Data includes both formal arrests and police contacts with juveniles where there is probable cause that an offense was committed but no formal charges were filed.
Arrest/Criminal Activity Data is Available for the following Offenses:
Index – Murder, Robbery, Forcible Rape, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Larceny, Motor Vehicle Theft.
Non-Index – UCR describes all other offenses as Non-Index. These offenses include Arson, Criminal Use of Marijuana, Possession of Dangerous Weapons, Criminal Mischief and Simple Assault. A complete listing of Non-Index offenses can be found on the Under 18 UCR Arrest Report form.
