From the North

From Rte. I-87 South (the Adirondack Northway) take Exit 1E (Rte. I-90) eastbound toward downtown Albany. Follow Rte. I-90 east and take Exit 6A to merge onto Rte. I-787 south along the Hudson River. From I-787 south, take Exit 3A and keep right. Take the offramp at the sign reading "Empire Plaza." Follow the elevated traffic loop into and under the Empire State Plaza. Immediately after the underpass take a right onto South Swan Street. The AESOB is located between State Street and Washington Avenue (directly across from the Capital Building)

From the South

From Rte. I-87 North (the New York State Thruway) take Exit 23 (Rte. I-787) northbound toward downtown Albany. Proceed through the tolls and continue onto Rte. I-787 north along the Hudson River. Take Exit 3 and bear right at the sign reading "Empire Plaza." Follow the elevated traffic loop into and under the Empire State Plaza. Immediately after the underpass take a right onto South Swan Street. The AESOB is located between State Street and Washington Avenue (directly across from the Capital Building)

From the East

From Rte. I-90 West (the Berkshire Spur of the New York State Thruway) take Exit 2 (Rte. I-90) westbound toward downtown Albany. Follow Rte. I-90 west and take Exit 6A. Bear left to merge onto Rte. I-787 south toward Albany. From I-787 south, take Exit 3A and keep right. Take the offramp at the sign reading "Empire Plaza." Immediately after the underpass take a right onto South Swan Street. The AESOB is located between State Street and Washington Avenue (directly across from the Capital Building).

From the West

From Rte. I-90 East (the New York State Thruway) take Exit 24 (Rte. I-90) eastbound toward downtown Albany. Follow Rte. I-90 east and take Exit 6A to merge onto Rte. I-787 south along the Hudson River. From I-787 south, take Exit 3A and keep right. Take the offramp at the sign reading "Empire Plaza." Follow the elevated traffic loop into and under the Empire State Plaza. Immediately after the underpass take a right onto South Swan Street. The AESOB is located between State Street and Washington Avenue (directly across from the Capital Building)

Visitor Parking for the AESOB:

1. On street metered parking (rates vary, meters use $0.25 or credit cards or Cash Key)
2. Elk Street Lot -Corner of Swan and Elk Street ($10.00 per day, limited visitor parking)
   
   Directions to the Elk Street Parking Lot:
   
   Take the "Empire Plaza" exit from I-787. Follow the elevated traffic loop into and under the Empire State Plaza. Immediately after the underpass take a right onto South Swan Street. Cross over Washington Avenue and cross over Elk Street - continue straight into Elk Street parking lot.
3. V Lot (P-3 North) at the Empire State Plaza ($2.00 per hour, maximum $20.00). Follow Rte. I-90 east to Rte. I-787 south along the Hudson River. Exit from I-787 south at the sign reading "Empire Plaza." Follow the elevated traffic loop into and under the Empire State Plaza. V Lot (P-3 North) will be on the right. After parking take the elevator to the concourse level. Exit from either the Legislative Office Building, Capital or Plaza. The AESOB is located between State Street and Washington Avenue (directly across from the Capital Building)
4. Alternative Transportation: CDTA (Capital District Transportation Authority) city busses stop directly across from our building.
5. A limited number of metered handicapped parking spaces are available in front of the Alfred E. Smith State Office.
6. Additional handicapped parking is available in the V Lot (P-3 North).
